just feels annoying that the country I come from is so absolutely lacking in anything. If I ever had to go to a foreigner and show him something nice about the place I'm from I literally can't (I can show them the coast but that part of the country has nothing to do with me)

I haven't seen the coast in 6 years
there is a decent forest I like going into sometimes but there's not really much to it. Not a super interesting hiking place with any lakes or little rivers. Just a bunch of trees.
Really loathe the nightlife here bc clubs play the shittiest turbofolk music and old 80s Yugoslav hits in them (if there's a band).
Bars are kinda ok I mean, they have a chill atmosphere but I don't really have anyone to go drink coffee or beer with but it's nothing special either

No. All the Eastern European countries that are in the EU (Baltics, Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria) are 1st world but the ones that aren't are indeed much poorer.

not really, that'd be probably only Slovenia and the Czech Republic maybe. As far as Croatia goes sure it's better than a lot of third world countries but it's sort of like the mediocre uncle in his early 40s who did nothing with his life and is still working at a gas station and has ocassional drug problems and is not married of the EU but is ok at dinner parties, while everyone else has their shit together
