Because they spoke Irish and adopted Irish customs and stopped being loyal to the Normans in Britain. And unlike in Britain they just integrated a lot better which is why a lot more people in Ireland have Norman admixture than in England.
Although it isn't fully black and white the Normans still ended up warring with the other Irish tuaths for hundreds of years.
