Literally how do you explain him getting so offended over Roger's blackface?

It wasn't the blackface that offended him you maroon.

Don grew up white trash. He always felt uncomfortable at these high society country clubs. He even admitted to hating it. Blackface is just weird and odd to him. He never saw anything like that when growing up rurally. He was always friendly with blacks. The first scene is him making nice conversation with a black waiter

>why isn't this character more racist??

It's important to shoehorn modern sensibilities and politics into my period dramas

>best friend's wedding

The only people there were people he worked with lmao

Wrong take
You're retarded

Give us your high-brained take then

It's so interesting when Mad Men threads pop up because zoomer faggots like OP interpret everything in this show to be about race, BBC, jews, or some retarded bullshit.

When we had actual Mad Men threads on Any Forums back in the day, it was about the actual subject matter of the show. How could anyone with above double digit IQ watch this episode and think it's about racism? I don't even think you're baiting, you legitimately think this don't you?

The state of this fucking board.

Give us your high-brained take then

>*gets baited*
>haha... I don't even think you were baiting....

He was jealous.

/SCDP/ when?

This
Don is more offended by Roger making a buffoon of himself and him getting married to Jane. He straight up says to Roger at the end of that episode that "No one thinks you're happy. They think you're foolish."
You're right that Don isn't racist, at the very least he doesn't care about race in an Objectivist way, but that isn't the motivation behind this particular reaction.

Why would he be angry over Roger marrying a young attractive woman?

They thought Stan was dead and that woman was Stan's wife

Will you shills ever stop shilling this evil shit? Go die
>How could anyone with above double digit IQ watch this evil show?
They couldn't. Its an advertisement only watched by low scum

There's a lot of conflict between Don and Roger in the early show. They're more like frenemies for a while before they patch things up come Season 3
IIRC the reason Don disliked this is because Roger got divorced solely on drunken advice Don gave him and then instantly got married to his ditzy young secretary. Don just sees it as really immature for someone like Roger who he once looked up to

You never see an angry or sad person in blackface

Exactly, people like Roger and Pete are WASP royalty, old money. Its in a fancy country club that people like Hilton just happen to be at.
Don grew up a penniless whoreson on a dust bowl farm and a whorehouse. Its no wonder he'd be uncomfortable.
