Bulgaria and Serbia have a 500-year-old cultural hole due to Turkish occupation. The first Serbian novels date back to the 19th century, the first opera was written in the 20th century. Croatian literature is 500+ years old. Croatia has Nobel Prize winners, Serbs and Bulgarians do not. In short, Serbs are barbarians.

I don't mean if it truly is purely slavic or not, just how everyone sees it. When someone in the world thinks of a slav, they don't think of a Pole or a Czech, but of a Russian. They think of a Russian wearing a tracksuit and drinking Stolichnaya vodka (that everyone thinks is also Russian).
