Faulty map. There is no way that India has a larger proportion of people living in poverty than Pakistan, Myanmar, Nepal and Bangladesh. And the data from Ukraine is also likely wrong, how can Baltic countries that are much richer have a higher % of people living in poverty.

The rupee has a PPP of 5x it's nominal value. It's just that everything is extremely cheap in India from food to medicines to basic supplies so you think we're not as poor as African countries which have to rely on foreign aid for basic supplies.
