This is not fluency
It's pretty obvious when visiting Western (anglo, germanic) countries – diaspora are more intelligent and feel more "human" than natives.
They're not mutually intelligible but that list of conversations is something an A2 can salvage so I can just do that without learning their languages and using common cognate words
English and a the tiny amount of German I learnt at school. I actually fancy getting back into German, I like the language. It's rather pointless learning another language if you can speak English, you're either doing it for fun or because you're moving to another country.
