Catholics are non practicing
Catholic churches are usually old and far away from poor neighborhoods therefore poor people have contact with the infinite amount of protestant churches in their neighborhoods
Brazilians are heavily influenced by Americans

Those basically explain it all

> latinx
> catholic stronghold

Meme.

Only the upper priviledged classes. Majority of people dont care about catholicism

Actually evangelicism is also a fad. The true religion that will fill the void left by incan/anahuac religions will be islam.

image worship on cucktholicism

Wealthy evangelicals are quite common as well. Half of SBT and Record actors/presenters are from the same weird evangelical church brand. We're just copying the US, and they also have a lot of wealthy evangelicals.

I actually read somewhere about an entire indeginous tribe in mexico that converted to islam that was some weird shit

its no ""meme"" retard. Brazil was extremely catholic until a couple of decades ago.Of course wer were not batshit insane hardcore like orthodox muslims. We were as catholics as Turkey is muslim today.

Venezuelan here.
There was a strong spiritual crisis during the last decades due to Vatican Council II, burger interventions, political/economic crisis, etc.

A lot of poors were affected by all this and life was short, miserable and dangerous, the Catholic Church was more busy doing politics and prottie missionaries, some independents other using burger/israeli money, filled that void of power that catholic church left.

Literally a lot of persons believed and still believe the world is going to end soon and Protties made life of people better in that sense.

Anyway, catholic Church is starting to counter protestantism since many priests returned to their original way, started to answer the questions prottie pastors answered and are making a lot of debates, catholicism is starting to make christian more a real thing and not just rituals, Catholicism is still strong and things will change in the next decades, it's hard to destroy our historical catholic spirit.

The evangelicos presented a simpler form of Christianity, addressing material issues and "selling miracles" in exchange of donations etc. It took hold in poorer neighborhoods but Catholicism remains very strong.

Literally all the saints, statues and pantings worship in catholic church was one of the main reasons my family converted.
>the bibles says not to make statues or to adore other dieties
>catholics do exactly the opposite
>therefore protestants are right

Which denominations do they choose?

And yes, this is not a good steriotypes but yes, brazilians are more serious catholics than mexicans, these that are ...

True even in france catholics pray to rock crosses asking for shit lol

neopentecostal

Pentecostal 90% of the time in Brazil

Brasil is the only place that people would kick your face, for broke some Saint Marry Statue or that would kick out of cathedral some syncretist that try mix afro-faiths or injun stuff in Mass...

Not is rulle, but is kind of the only part of LatAm that this could just happened in 2022

Btw, I think that in LatAm, Brasil is the place that most hate and kill whores in LatAm, we not enjoy this much the culture of Latina Caliente

Brazil is not latin american.

Not only rock crosses, but statues of Mary, Saints, Jesus etc..
Not to mention all the processions they do carrying statues aswell.
Im pretty sure catholics have some "argument" )mental gymnastic) to cope with this, but its pretty obvious it stems directly from Roman paganism.
Just like tons of shit in Islam come from Arabic paganism (praying to kaab, obligation to visit kaaba, circling around kaaba) etc...
