David Lynch on Capeshit

>the difference between super hero “movies” and real films is akin to the subtle difference between domestic violence and foreplay. Sure, they both end with penetrative sex but it’s the nuances of the preceding event that matters
What in the actual fuck did he mean by this?

He didn't say that but I wish he did.

kino

Lynch hasn't actually sat down and watched someone else's movie since Stanly Kubrick died.

David Lynch has never watched a movie in his entire life.

Unbreakable was meta capeshit but it was the best. Avengers and other comic book movies are to be enjoyed as they are, not critiqued while swirling wine around in a glass.

>not critiqued while swirling wine around in a glass
This is how capeshit reviewers review their favourite capeshit. They're trying to get them seen as high art. That's the issue. I'd have no problem with capeshit if it was like in the 90s, the occasional one getting released alongside other blockbusters, but when they became all that is released and wanted to be treated like actual films is when capeshit truly became despicable.

fandom is a lot different than when i was younger. it's like a religion or something. and now with the internet and everyone being mentally ill, it's very in-your-face.

>who gives a fuckin shit how long a shot is
based dave

The Straight Story is a more human and affecting film than every single superhero movie ever made

(((They))) realised how easy it is to control manchildren who are waiting for a literal iron man to fly down and save the day, rather than create their own freedom.

Based its also his greatest film. Glad to see other anons finally coming to that conclusion.

Straight Story ist a more human and affecting film than almost every movie in general.

>If you're playing the movie on a telephone, you will never in a trillion years experience the film
>You'll think you have experienced it, but you'll be cheated.
>It's such a sadness
>that you think you've seen a film
>on your fucking telephone.
>Get real.

You'd think, given the stuff he puts on film

>marvel fan is a tranny
Tale as old as time.

>"movies are like sex:"
>*goes into a long, pornographic excursus with no discernable relevance to film*
>"anyway, what was I talking about? ah, nevermind"

Scorsese was more articulate

and that's a great thing

>raurrhrha rharhughgh hhharhhghgh
>Mr Lynch please, please take the panties out of your mouth for the interv-
>RHAUGHHH RAUGHGH HMMMARHUH

I really don't get people who were offended by his statement. It's true that there are no stakes in most superhero movies. Why should anybody deny that?

This explains why I can't into Blue Velvet on my laptop

in other words with lower standards because they’re shit
