Can someone explain why he called me a faggot? VLC seems fine to me and supports every codec I've ever thrown at it. It doesn't seem like it uses much CPU power. Why am I a cuckold for using a completely fine player?

I recently switched back to VLC from MPC because it automatically downmixes the 5.1 audio to stereo for me. On MPC I had to turn everything up to literally 100% when watching movies, and I still would miss some dialogue

I only switched to mpc hc because I like the frameless option better. Press 1 and the borders disappear. Press 2 and the border is still gone but the time bar shows up if you want to skip ahead or back. Press 3 an you get full navigation again. Another shortcut lets me put it always on top. So I can watch some kino while doing other things on my laptop.

turn on "Loudness Equalization" in your sound settings fixes the low dialog problem regardless of media player.

That was also the decisive factor for me. There are probably ways to downmix on other players, but MPC comes with downmixing options right out of the box.

your computer has hardware capable of improving the picture quality, why wouldnt you want that to be used? low CPU or GPU use means VLC isnt actually doing anything

uhhh where? you misread my post, i ditched MPC because i couldnt figure out how to fix the audio issue
i could have been misusing the term, i dont know if what vlc does is actually downmixing. all i know is that the audio is louder. i will check for loudness EQ, but i dont remember seeing that setting. I tried the Normalization setting and it didn't do anything
