Pros!
> Solid showdown between Laurie & Myers. Michael ripping the axe out of his shoulder and slamming it into the ground was boss. Decapitation was great.
> Secluded school is a decent location.
> Young cast is decently likable.
> The bathroom sequence is suspenseful.
Cons!
> No character besides Laurie gets any depth.
> Laurie's boyfriend is really likable but is wasted overall.
> 3 different mask are used and ALL largely suck. Main one shows his eyes way too much, hair is too flared out & forehead is too big.
> Marco Beltrami's score is good but doesn't really vibe with the franchise's traditional music at all.

Was a fun movie. But yeah my expectations were super low. Better than Halloween kills imo (which I had higher expectations for)

No horror film instills more terror in me than the fact I have work tomorrow. That being said, the remake of Pet Cemetery was decent.
I watched some other spooky film but I forget the name. Had a clapping rabbit puppet thing in it. Guy stuck on an island in a chained jacket.....ringing any bells?

That's cause it doesn't dress itself as a slasher. It's more in line with other backwoods exploitation like Deliverance.

"Caveat", yeah thanks user. It was alright. Some of the ending scares reminded me of Session 9. In a good way I mean. Kind of drawn out though.
Yeah, it's just so stripped down it works. Deliverance is a decent comparison but I feel like it more relates to Misery. Just deranged people doing deranged things.
