It's one of my favorite movies but it bothers me so much that the pimps weren't black like Schrader intended in the script. Not only is it not historically accurate it goes against the whole idea of the movie and it bothers me everytime I watch it

It doesn't end up okay. That's what the final few seconds of the movie means when he looks at the mirror. It means he is going to kill again but this time it will likely be innocents

I thought it meant he was pivoting away from his Betsy rejection inspired edgelord self- like we see the red Travis in the mirror, we get the spooky musical sting- that's the edgy Travis, but he grabs the mirror and he pointedly turns it away from that evil Travis.
