I think that the way they totally ban human representations of the prophet and other religious figures is a good thing.
The way Christians worship the bones of saints and their images is idolatry and against the concept of a one god.
Islam had a better treatment of non-believers up to one point and I count it as a plus that tolerance is part of the faith (on paper).
Islam opposed tribalism and aristocracy.
Islam gave more rights to women than other contemporary faiths.
