A few days ago I was talking to a friend about Satanic Panic in the 80s-90s.
Basically we two came to the conclusion that the edgelords larpers who called themselves "satanists" weren't connected. The real satanists paint themselves as Christans, child welfare advocates, left/right wing politicians, and so on... The real problem hides itself in plain view. The "satanists" were just trolling for fun, and publicity. Except the Temple of Set, Aquino, high ranking US military groups. Something is terrible about them. They weren't hipster satanists. They ran biological warfare research, MKUltra/Often shit.
