I thought so too when I first saw it. But it grew on me the more I watched it. He plays a little shit head very well. Eastwood directs some fantastic movies, but there's always a thing in it that seems off. In 'Pale Rider' when he splashes the water on the guy, he completely misses the match the guy is holding. Yet still says something like "You shouldn't play with matches."
