The movie is about a paranoid schizophrenic and the majority of the movie is not an accurate representation of reality. When he goes to that party/club, Sam is going through a manic phase and really going wild on the dance floor, with everyone watching and wondering what’s wrong with him. When he shows up at the party where is ex-fiancée is in his pajamas or when he runs home totally naked, there’s an in-story reason for it, but if those reasons are all in his head, he’s just a disturbed person running amok.

The hobo king is actually a cop. The first time they meet, he takes Sam to jail. He closes a big metal door to a cavern with a bed. Sam sees a bomb shelter when it’s really just a jail cell. The second time, he’s in shackles being interrogated then told he’s "free to go". The Owl women is a metaphor for suicide. She's seen after the man Sam met killed himself and when Sam was at his lowest with a gun she showed up creeping up behind him.

The movie (partially) is trying to explain celebrity stalkers. His sickness has made him find patterns where there are no patterns forcing him to come to the conclusion that a random musician is behind all of them. Then he kills him thinking he’s doing the right thing. He's also the dog killer

None of that really makes any sense in conjunction with the ambush at the lake and the ending explanation of the tombs though.

this fuckin guy again

It is cool. Cool style of film. Recommend more films about someone discovering a bizarre conspiracy.

yeah this movie filtered me
this scene especially was cringe as fuck

>getting a storyline this wrong

None of that was real

But then you are just arbitrarily drawing the line between which parts happened and which parts are in his head. What makes you conclude that he killed a random musician instead of of that just being in his head as well?

>"ACKSHULLY, you're wrong"
>doesn't present any counters
Classic. Next you'll say something retarded like how it's obvious what the movie means without presenting any evidence as to what that is, again.

>The letter A and the numbers 2 and 4
Nope.

Rotten Tomato critics like it, so pretentious reddit leftoids pretend to like it then spread their retard cancer to Any Forums.

I liked your explaination user. Helped the movie make more sense

I heard this movie touches on the underbelly of Hollywood. Any truth to that?

Yes. You should watch it instead of wasting your time reading autists on here argue about it.

Your interpretation requires too much Death of the Author. You would need to willfully attempt to fit the story into that framework and disregard everything that doesn’t apply as intended to be discarded.

You did remind me about the Owl Woman, though, which was cool, so I guess the movie isn’t all bad. It’s really just the new Nightcrawler, which was the new Drive, which was the new I Saw the Devil, which was the new Old Boy, which was the new Donnie Darko, which was the new Fight Club. It’s just that edgy dark dramedy that appeals to young males.
