i say set it in the future, neon lights tokyo or something and have the predator hunt yakuza and try to recover predator technology stolen by yutani
Where can the predator franchise go from where it is now?
Have there been any good Predator movies since AvP? Of if you didn't like that, since the original?
Bring Arnold back in a literal "the old hunter vs the big creature that no one has killed yet" Ala beowulf vs the dragon
Dutch is hunted cause he killed a predator and thus a most dangerous game. Government is having issues with a predator. Hire him to tackle it in Africa. Have local guide character for diversity casting
Boom done
Predator 2 was ok. Predators sucked except I liked the 15 minutes Laurence Fishburne was in the movie.
They should recreate the AVP arcade game
We almost got pure kino with seagal in predator 2.
>In an interview with Howard Gorman (via Bloody Disgusting) for Predator 2's 30th Anniversary, director Stephen Hopkins talked about almost casting Seagal in the sequel. Apparently, Seagal really wanted the role and invited Hopkins over to his house to talk about the movie. Hopkins explained that it was one of the strangest experiences of his life, with Seagal showing off his gun collection and offering to launch grenades with the director
>“I had to go and have a meeting at his house. Which was one of the craziest afternoons I’ve had. […] … it was a bizarre… he’s a very unusual, slightly twisted kind of guy. In the end, I couldn’t see myself doing it with him. He was desperate to do it. I went into his house and he took me into a room where all the walls were covered with guns. He told me he wanted to play a CIA-psychiatrist who was also a martial arts expert who carried a gun. He was clearly a little crazy at the time. And I was like this is different than the way we’re going so I guess we shouldn’t do it.
>“He said, ‘You know, I want you to come to my house in Santa Barbara.’ He said, ‘I’ve got a grenade launching range there, we can launch grenades together’. I said, ‘Yeah… great, we’ll do that’... Sorry, I’m not a fan of his.”
Screw the director. Seagal is probably autistic but he would've been perfect for the role of fighting a predator then.
>Bring Arnold back
>shitty nostalgia bait with a 70 year old walking mummy
That's the exact opposite of what they need to do to revitalize the franchise
Once again, cowardice of small vision destroys what was possible...
Capeshit is the Predator's endgame.
BS. The best predator is the original and Arnold has improved as an actor since then. Bring him back, have him prove he's still the ultimate predator and be done with it. Otherwise you're gonna wind up with more garbage with the best you can hope for being the Adrian Brody movie
I'm honestly kinda irritated. Predator 2 is ok but seagal going ape against the predator with his martial arts would've been great.
>More AVP trash
Naw
Predator 2 was like a robocop tier parody except they did it by accident
Predator 2 was just Lethal Weapon vs Predator
all they have to do it just keep making predator movies similar to the first two. its a perfect forumla. its never coming back and im so mad
Anything that comes from Disney will be garbage
How does this make seagal sound bad? He sounds like a fun dude, I would go to the grenade range with him no prob, sounds like a great afternoon
Dude was no doubt intimidate by seagal and a typical Hollywood fag who is afraid of anything slightly dangerous but will make movies where people are killed in horrific ways.
this nigga gets it
I say leave it alone, for Christ's sake. Stop trying to fucking franchise everything.
Learn from what AvP:Requiem did right and make a Predator, starring the predator. In space, not on earth, hunting something other than humans. You can have humans in it but the movie sticks to the predator's POV. Put in some interspecies romance bait if it sells tickets I don't care.
>set on predator homeworld
>see how predator culture operates
>focus on one predator
>works as spaceship mechanic
>dreams of going on an offworld hunt
>finally gets his chance after winning a contest of strength
>dropped on an alien planet
>tracks down his quarry
>it's a squad of green berets
>ends with the predator skinning the green berets and hanging them from a tree
>it stands above the treeline, looks at the rising sun, and letting out a monstrous roar
yes, it's a prequel
no
seagal was always awful to work with. a full legit psycho. he treats his costars like Absolute shit and he is hard to direct
plus he's a shit actor and predator 2 had no martial arts.
I don't care how much you defend him. he's a bad actor
>Seagal is probably autistic but he would've been perfect for the role of fighting a predator then.
No he wouldn't, because Seagal's ego doesn't allow him to take even one hit in a fight. Seagal is unfit for any good movie because of his ego.
