There is tonnes of writing on the screen at all times (all over it, not just on the bottom) and it seemed like everything was a talk show (with segments where guests/hosts react to videos they're watching of someone doing something whacky or socially taboo). Once I randomly caught sumo wrestling and there were a few period dramas from time to time (they're popular as well).
But yeah, the major difference I noticed was the writing on the screen. All over it all the time.
