My favourite cinematic universe is Akira Kurosawa Postwar Japan

1980s Mexican sex comedy is the pinnacle of cinema, it makes italian neorealism look like 1930s Hollywood revue films. It's a whole nother level of depth of cinéma verité

My favorite type of movies are character study movies. I really enjoy "psychoanalizing" characters. Anyone else?

MOGGED

I really don't get the appeal of psychoanalyzing entirely fictional people. Probably my least favorite type of film.

yes

Y’all like Todd Solondz?

The catalog is all Star Wars stuff. Is it always like that in this board?

Bresson is shit.
Antonioni and Fellini are the only good directors.

visconti is good too

He's decent, though not as good as the other two, especially Antonioni.

> Is it always like that in this board?
Don't know. I barely browse Any Forums at this point. I just find /film/ then open other tabs to do other stuff and coming back here every once in a while to check on the conversation

I get hard from my memories sometimes. It's just Gina doesn't really arouse me much. I don't lile her very much eother physically OR emotionally.

Every Rohmer movie is the exact same.

There is nothing to analyze.

It's because he's an auteur. Name one good non-auteur director.

I didn't like it and feel like a pleb. I liked Autumn Afternoon quite a bit but this one was a drag to get through.

Every media-focused board is full of plebs, with only a few decent generals or threads here and there.

Hong at 17 here.

Watching The Room in a theater is still one of my favorite experiences.

This is going to be my 10th Rohmer, hope it's as good as they say.

>I didn't like it
Why not?

I still haven't seen anything by Ozu, I just don't even know where to start, and quite frankly it all sounds so unappealing to me.

You're far taller than is ideal and you could use some "chin shaving" surgery.

Start with The Only Son, his first sound film, or perhaps with Late Spring, the first of the Noriko trilogy.

I think the acting, not that it's bad just old fashioned. I know it was different back then but it kinda threw me off a bit.

I would not even deny dating her but I am just being honest. I would be thinking of other people during it and also I would really expect your father to be paying for my meds and helping me out because from you, that is what my main concern would be. There would be no real love there.
