Were they ever good?
Last podcast
Undeniably. It was a hilarious and mildly informative show for years. Hong Kong Henry Zabrowski was like of Nick Mullen was into aliens and chaos Magick.
Roundtable of Gentlemen was even better, especially with gross pig Jackie and it being clear that they were just long island trash raised by a racist cop, they were hilarious.
I guess I don't even blame them for going woke. Make that money and shit. But they've been basically unlistenable since around the time Trump took office.
I enjoyed their series about Mormonism. The presenters can get very annoying especially the Henry guy
I remember liking them until they abruptly started riffing on the song Centerfold, and spent like ten minutes claiming anyone that liked it was a misogynist. Too woke for me
Also, best episodes:
Ghost Cats of the South (the undeniable GOAT)
Edgewood series
Enfield Poltergeist series
Charles Ng series
Hollow Moon (bitter post-breakup Henry at his best)
Ed Gein
3rd episode of 9/11 where they discuss the batshit occult side of things
L Ron Hubbard
Early on they did Ted Bundy and Ben basically blamed the women for trusting him because he was hot, and said they deserved it because these women would never fuck guys like them. Even for me I was taken aback. That's how fucking different and full of shit they are now.
I still like them. I met Henry whilst working with a film commission. I assume they fall into the 'onions' category being potheads, leftists, etc. but their riffs sometimes catch me off-guard enough to make me laugh my ass off.
I appreciate that they actually put effort into their true crime shit unlike JCS or My Favorite Murder
I guess I don't even blame them for going woke. Make that money and shit. But they've been basically unlistenable since around the time Trump took office.
100%. The Dyatlov Pass episode was such a blast too.
We Hate Movies descent into superwokism was even more drastic.
I came to the show late and it was hilarious listening to the Hong Kong Henry stuff knowing there was going to have to be an apology somewhere along the way
Thanks for reccs, haven't listened to them in years and would love to go back for some classics.
Recently listened to their series on Paul Bernardo and thought it was swell
Ah yes my favorite television and film. Also I don't believe any of you retards's definition of Woke
Checkmate. Also I don't believe you retards's definition of grammar.
That does not seem to be the thread subject
It's pretty good but some episode, especially early on, suffer from morning-radio-show-syndrome.
Its definitely better than a lot of other podcasts/youtubers that only seem to do a quick read on wikipedia
Check again.
The podcast "Last Lodcast On The Left" is not the show "Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell"
Look again.
One of the fags on the podcast is one of the fags dressed as a demon
No shit, and that doesn't somehow make the podcast a television show
My favorite murder used to be fun, but they both became REALLY preachy a couple years ago. Most of their "research" seems like reading a Wikipedia page and whatever click bait site they find first, then inserting a victim complex behind it. I also noticed they would constantly say "oh my god, I just read/heard the most AMAZING book/podcast. This woman is INCREDIBLE". Then almost immediately admit they only got 10 minutes into it and stopped.
They spend so much god damn time gushing Over bullshit and not talking about the fucking murder
I forgot Jonestown, that's very close to the top. I prefer the alien/ghost/weird shit followed by cults. Most fans seem to dig the true crime stuff which is okay to me but not that fascinating or funny (I mainly view it as a comedy show first and foremost).
Mormonism was the last good series to me, and that was only because it's probably the best pop breakdown of the religion anywhere, especially the occult shot which nobody ever pays attention to.
But everything for years before that was bad and after, and the turn towards history series after was just boring as fuck. I have Dan Carlin for that.
Regardless. I do think they're okay dudes and when I started listening to the show they were putting change together to buy booze while working day jobs. If a friend of mine told me he was getting paid $200k a year to say trannies we're cool or whatever, I'd be happy for him. Hard to get mad at people that gave me a lot of laughs and lulled me to sleep for a couple years in the early 2010s.
Which number is the "trannies we're cool" ep?
I actually hate how more "academic" they've gotten . Sorta killed the vibe. Long stretches of Marcus just talking and they rush through the jokey parts too.
I'm exaggerating obviously. If your point is that Any Forums freaks out if anyone dares to have an opinion left of Nazism, believe me, I agree, and we're probably on the same side here, but the boys are obviously on the "I've grown out of that stuff" train that comics tend to do once they go woke. Me laughing at them less is worth fuck all to them, which is fair enough, but I mean, I am laughing at them less, and I'd only recommend older episodes of the pod to people looking for a laugh.
I like the show, but havent heard the newest stuff. Two of my personal favourites are the Aum Shinrikyo and the norwegian black metal episodes.
I mean they've been doing the show for 10 years. It would be weird for any person not the change in that time period.
Personally I feel it's more that the show is formulaic now and they seem tired of it rather than that they're "woke"
