Before the New Year special aired, the same source said they’d heard that the Easter special would be a Sea Devils story. In December, they reported that filming for the next era would begin in May, which was later confirmed. even months ago, they reported that Ella Road would be co writing the Easter special. This was confirmed to be true. A year ago, they stated that Maxine Alderton was doing the S13 Weeping Angels episode. Again, true.
A month before ComicCon where it was officially announced, they reported that S13 would be 6 episodes followed by 3 specials. In May, they reported that S13 would be serialised. This was announced in June at comic con.
On New Years, they then reported that they were filming 11 episodes for the new era. 3 specials followed by an 8 episode S14. This tracks with the recent David Tennant rumour. They also reported in January last year that Jo had been asked to take time off from Holby for Doctor Who. She later appeared in Flux.
The same source has said that Tennant will be back in 3 specials, as the 10th Doctor (60th, xmas, new year?) before the 14th Doctor's debut in an 8 episode Series 14.

With the 10th Doctor returning for 3 episodes, how much likely does this make the 13th Doctor regeneration ending open handed?
I'd say at this point it's a pretty much given they'll cut to black during the glowing regeneration stuff
Then start (after the specials) with the 14th Doctor already running around (like the 9th)
