Orcs are Racist?

Why the fuck do so many retarded late millenials and zoomers think that Tolkien was a racist because of how Orcs were depicted in the story? How in the flying fuck could any of these retards grasp at straws and say that Orcs are made to demonize black people?

Are these faggots so desperate for a witch hunt that they try to project any and all racist/stereotypical depictions of minorities and compare them to fucking mythical creatures in fiction? How can anyone possibly be THIS retarded?

Not according to the daily Gondor

It's because they equate them to black people in their own minds. And then they try to obfuscate those racist thoughts by projecting it all the whilst trolls ironically feed into their delusions.

As said it's classic repressed racism. They see dirty, ugly, violent savages, and their first thought is niggers.

If they equate Orcs to black people in their own minds, then it sounds like they are the real racists rather than Tolkien.

Miyazaki would like a word

>“If someone is the enemy, it’s okay to kill endless numbers of them,” he continued. “Lord of the Rings is like that. If it’s the enemy, there’s killing without separation between civilians and soldiers. That falls within collateral damage. How many people are being killed in attacks in Afghanistan? The Lord of the Rings is a movie that has no problem doing that [not separating civilians from enemies, apparently]. If you read the original work, you’ll understand, but in reality, the ones who were being killed are Asians and Africans. Those who don’t know that, yet say they love fantasy are idiots.”

amerimutts don't get it

Everyone knows that original orcs were described as mongoloid, that's not what we're talking about. Please sniff farts elsewhere.

>“If someone is the enemy, it’s okay to kill endless numbers of them,”
Obviously yes.

The movie was very explicit about what the orcs were originally and that is elves. So they are white people that have been corrupted and twisted by the darkness of Melkor.
Of course retards have tried to highjack LOTR for decades and they just continue to invent headcanon and reject the parts that disagrees with them

Orcs are just humans and elves that were corrupted by Melkor since only Eru can create life.

The fucking Elves and Orcs were supposed to be an allegory for Angels and Demons. The Orcs/Demons were once Elves/Angels, but were corrupted by darkness. The Orcs are Tolkien's version of Fallen Angels. LOTR took influence from The Bible.

>humans
I think "pure" (if that's even a word that applies in this scenario) orc stock is descended from debased elves, the human admixture is a more recent phenomenon of Sauron's doing.

They bred orcs and humans, so some of them are mixed.

No? Angels are more closely represented as the Ainur, with Melkor as the Lucifer-devil and his Umaiar servants as demons.

Lmao

It's a slight misunderstanding of the material.

You could argue, I think honestly, that Tolkien was inspired by European history as much as he was by European mythology. A recurring theme in European history is Christendom having to come together to defeat the Turks, an evil power from the east that was culturally very different from any of the European powers. Europeans viewed the Turks as inhuman alien savages (for religious as much as political purposes). Therefore, so say a vanishingly small number of Twitter agitators, Tolkien's work reinforces these xenophobic ideas by presenting a narrative that's very similar to what was essentially medieval propaganda. Ergo, Lord of the Rings is racist.

What's missing, of course, is the demonstration of intent by the author. There is absolutely no reason to believe that Tolkien wrote Lord of the Rings as a way to insult Turkey or glorify "white supremacy." In fact, as many people on this board have pointed out, Tolkien (like any sane person) despised Nazism and thought Hitler's brand of obsessive regard for ethnicity was complete lunacy. The books are much more of a denouncement of industrialism than multiculturalism. What Tolkien truly loved was the Shire, not Gondor.

But if you're the sort of person whose first thought upon evaluating a piece of media is, "Is this work an attack on my worldview?" (and there are as many of these people on Any Forums as there on Twitter, by the way), then simply finding a thematic connection is sufficient to decry the work itself as somehow inherently or deliberately racist.

This is wishful thinking and not true. You should be careful about conclusions that are too perfect.

>people consider orcs racist
>there are evil eastern humans referred to as swarthy men

So the nuclear bombs were justified? Nice

>evil humans
They are never described as inherently evil though, infact some passages imply they were not and simply coerced into doing evil acts plus Aragorn pardons them all at the end of ROTK and gives them their own lands to live in because he knows it was Saurons doing that made them oppose the peoples of Gondor and elsewhere

It's a bit of an awkward analogy, because European powers maintained positive relations with the Turks (notably France) and travellers there commented on how nice and civilized the country was.
Even the Europeans that most loathed Turks would, I doubt, have described them the way Tolkien describes Orcs. Their society was highly developed, wealthy, and extremely capable in diplomacy and warfare.

They seem more like a colonial era conception. This vague brutish dark Other that's neither developed nor civilized in any way recognisable to European society.

If anything Orcs are an Allegory for the Germans. AKA "The Hun" as the English called them at the time.
A highly industrialized nation, that seemed more army than actual nation, of people out to conquer the known world.

>Tolkien (like any sane person) despised Nazism and thought Hitler's brand of obsessive regard for ethnicity was complete lunacy
It's easy to call ethnostates "lunacy" when you're already living in one and see no reason to fear not living in one in the future. If Tolkien could see what his beloved England looked like today, you could bet your sorry ass he'd change his mind about Hitler pretty quick.

Because orcs are a perfect representation of niggers

>LOTR is a story where a bunch of people from different races overcome centuries of hate and mistrust to form a friendship that saves the world
>Dude it's like totally racist. Orcs are like black or something.
