That Daniel Radcliffe movie is a piece of shit.

Whats the Naomi Watts movie?
They dont make gothic horror anymore because its expensive and horror is the money pig genre.

>Whats the Naomi Watts movie?
The Others, and that's Nicole Kidman.

play bloodborne.

the first one? the others (2001)
that's nicole kidman

it's expensive and nobody cares except theater kids—the only reason they get made in the first place is because hollywood is full of theater kids who feedback loop into thinking anybody gives a shit about gothic horror

Right, dont know what i was thinking, maybe it was the hair.

is this movie good?

The special effects and costumes are kino, but they forgot to write a script

It feels like Del Toro had some cool concept art and settings but didn't know what to do with it so he made Crimson Peak. The story is kinda ass, it drags on, and there really isn't much horror.

Yes, the actors are good and the setting is tasteful but expect the usual gimmicky toro story

it's not bad but it's pretty forgettable.

>why won't they make movies in this style anymore?
Because this style doesn't work in digital. Even Crimson Peak was very meh visually.
The 90s (early 2000s) was truly the end of this sub-genre.

>Because this style doesn't work in digital.
So just don't then?

thats all they do now

This one might interest you. It does not have opulence but they worked well with the lightning and the set they had.

It's incredibly shit, but the set is pretty.

Someone made that post about lush, Gothic, period-set horror and didn't include an image from Bram Stoker's Dracula?

just to confirm that later 1980s to early 2000s was the most beautiful period of film
