Lord of the Rings

If the Amazon show is good then it must have Legos sets too? Right? Otherwise it is a failure. Fact.

I literally have that set next to me on the shelf.

I am so jealous of you right now

The Hobbit movies may have sucked but this set was neat. Reminds me of an old Robin Hood hideout Lego set I had when I was a kid.

On a scale of 9-14 how old are you?

Don't want to sound like a nostalgia fag but Lego hasn't been good since they acquired the licence for Star Wars sets

Why are Gimli and Boronir trademarks?

No nostalgia whatsoever, Lego has gone down the shitter. Just look at the new Lego City sets lmao, and their prices are outrageous.

Amazon probably realizes how autistically obsessed Tolkien fans are about the medium.....moreso than marvel or star wars fans......because they actually have a Bible of sorts to point out heretical changes. So I'd wager the first season will be pull out all the stops to ape off Jackson's films. It'll probably start with Galadriel/Gandalf explaining to Frodo in the undying lands about the lore. Then it'll do some shallow "intrigue" and fetch quests until they start to give up and fuck up.

new sets will never have soul and you will never be a woman

These sell for like 4x the price today, used. Lego collectors are insane

can you remove the cave troll's head and put on sam's head?

No the Cave Trolls head is moulded to the torso and legs. Only the arms are detachable.

MUST
CONSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

This century lego are so low IQ shit. Back in the 90 all pieces were small, designed to build everything you had in mind. Now looks like there are 5 or 6 mega pieces that can only be used to build that particular model.
This says a lot about brain power of today kids

It's actually the exact opposite problem, instead of mostly medium-sized pieces that you had to use creatively to make something look a certain way there's a bajillion tiny little ultra-detail pieces that LEGO pack every set full of to inflate the cost. The big-piece thing kind of peaked in the 90s and early 2000s.

COMING THIS FALL

shiet, back in my day we had to create our own Lotr lego sets

Attached: 8748724.png (700x518, 370.84K)

Just the opposite actually. In the 90s, Lego had a very limited library of molds and colors compared to today. Something like 5-10% the current catalogue of pieces. That limited their ability to make realistic models and they went with a more blocky, charming, colorful aesthetic. A lot of sets had large baseplates, big rock pieces, wall panels, etc to offer more at a lower price.

They tried expanding the specialty pieces but other market issues got in the way and part selection got to it's worst in the early 2000s when Lego was undergoing financial troubles and doing major cut-backs. Since finding success with licensing deals like Star Wars and Harry Potter, they've slowly been adding more and more pieces to make realistic models. Really starting in the mid-2000s when they started adding curves and slopes in sets like Jango Fett's Slave 1, 7163 Republic Gunship, etc. Since then, the library has been ever expanding and meeting the demand for more movie-accurate models in different themes.

In fact it's a complaint now from vintage fans of Lego that Lego has turned into single-use models they've gotten so complex, finished looking and built from small pieces.

If I had known this would be the only set with a Boromir fig I would have bought it instantly. Happy I managed to get the Eomer and Theoden ones
Got this set for christmas when the movie came out, that was a very comfy year
