Thoughts on hanfu revival movement?

Is it just a kind of cosplay?

Any preservation or revival of culture is pleasing to see. I see it in my country and do enjoy seeing it in others within a world full of cultureless globalisation.

This, we should all revive our traditional culture

Looks like bourgeoisie pass time

Cringe. They're communist, so that's the tradition that should be revived and embraced instead of the china styled capitalism.

I feel like culture has become very homogenous since the 2000s, with everyone wearing jeans and watching the same disney/netflix shows, so I think it's a good thing even if it looks silly.

It is aesthetic but unfortuantely not organic, thus wont last.

Yes it's cosplay.
Proofs:
>They mix clothes from different dynasties
>The fit is completely wrong
>They don't even wear the proper undergarment half the time
>The material is often nylon or something. Not authentic cloth or silk

Let me guess you think the CCP is behind the Hanfu revival. Lol.

When you hear people say "burgers have no culture" they are really saying burger culture is overwhelming us

cringe and faggy, manchu clothing unironically looks better

Cope

they look too tacky for me. I do see hardcore fan wearing plainer, more authentic type and that's pretty to me

It's nice but it looks like cosplay.
If the point of the hanfu movement is dewesternize Asian clothing, then they need to come up with designs that look more casual for every day wear.

I don’t understand what’s wrong with this

>Centuries worth of tradition and corporate brands are the same thing bro.

I don't get who's promoting it tbqh.
My point is that those clothes, although aesthetic, are not pratical in a pragmatic modern world. No one would use them organically.

I'm all for a beauty revival, but it must be in accordance of the context of our modern world, otherwise it is doomed to fail.

I'm actually quite sad this drama will never be released because of the river crabs.

What era is hanfu supposed to be reviving exactly? Seems like pure LARP to me.

there's plenty of modern takes on the hanfu tho

>Disney movies and McDonald's is culture

Then share them please.

>No one would use them organically.
So what? You think people are being MADE to wear hanfu?

Why aren't their feet bound?

just google it

That's actually better and believable. I guess if pop artists and actresses start to use them maybe they can influence people.
No, but fringe groups LARPing wont ever change the grand scale of things.

it's more like LARPing, some people from uni here used to go around wearing han era clothing. But they get it very wrong and it has nothing to do with traditionalism (which is why they picked a ethnic chinese dynasties fashion), it's also just as corporate as modern clothing.

As a footfag I strongly dislike hanfu because it lacks open toe shoes.
