Is it unconditional or is it like limited time unemployment or a subsidy for students?

i've been on gibs my entire adult life and i'm 26 now sometimes my benefits get cut by -20% for a month or two. i get 514€ plus rent and utilities so it ll sum up to around 1100€ for me. it really isnt all that much since you've gotta buy all stuff from that 514€ food etc. even the shittiest job pays 2000€ after taxes so you get almost 900€ per month more in my case it's a lot more money tbqh

and gibs just had 2% increase this year meanwhile the inflation was a lot higher and probably much higher this year

Here unemployment is based on how much you used to earn (up to a ceiling) and its time is based on how long your job lasted.
Then we have the pure gibs that are basically only for completely destitute people. It’s calculated on household income and if it’s lower than like 12k in total you get €800+average rent a month.
Even owning a home might cut it in half or make you non eligible though. Contrary to popular belief, we’re pretty strict on gibs, but I think that it gives more incentive for people to actually work in the long term

i havent bothered getting unemployment benefits i'm just on social assistance tired of having to deal with the neet office even if this social assistance is less and i get this 20% cut from time to time. i can manage since i dont smoke and rarely drink
