Because IQ isn't just how quickly you can process numbers. Asians are less creative, more conformist and think less abstractly.

>Was Newton Japanese? >Was Einstein Korean? >Was Darwin Chinese? They were all Jewish

>non-stop civil war, didn't have time to build a stable civilization because of this >there is no severe epidemic like europe where society is demoralized

Asian society was very based on hierarchy for a long time. And questioning the authority, your elders or teachers was culturally unacceptable
The west however has had a culture in academia for the longest time of questioning everything and always trying to be better than those before you which naturally leads to more evolution of technology and science
As asian societies have started to put the idea of elders or superiors being right always to the side so too have they skyrocketed in innovation

Other than Japan, this is not true.

It's genetics, which created Confucianism.

IQ is a good proxy for g but imperfect. East Asians seem to have high processing power but low creativity. They operate well in the box, not out of it. That's why Europeans were the first to colonize as well, even though China had the power to do so for a long time prior.
Carson Flores
Then genetics also created Legalism, Agriculturalism, and Mohism.

South Korea, Japan and Taiwan all still have this conformity mentality and structure of seniors and juniors inside a company. Innovation is high but it happens as a collective effort within big tech firms like Sony, Samsung, TSMC. Formation of new start-ups is fairly low compared to Europe and America, because you want to avoid job insecurity. If you graduate university and get hired bit (preferably a big) company, this will bring prestige to your family and leave you with the economic means to support yourself. Even if you have a good idea, just forming a company to develop said idea into a concept or product means putting your economic status in danger.
