is it some game of the goose

I've had this tabletop game in childhood. It was about stocks and stock market. Never understood the rules THOUGH. All I remember that thia game had some huge banknotes: $10k, $20k, $50k, while other tabletop games operated with $10, $20, $100.

It's called "Star of Africa" and the point is finding a diamond called the Star of Africa. When you land on a city you flip over the token on it and if you're lucky you find the star which you then need to bring to Cairo. It's been criticized for colonialism since the goal of the game is to steal jewels from Africa.

Looks cool

we also have this game. very common in elementary schools

I like German board games, but I hate Catan.
Wtf, we call it Chińczyk (Chinese man) here.
It's probably not really popular outside of Poland, but I really liked it as a child. I think it was published as Animal Husbandry or Have You Herd? in the US. It's really old too, goes back to 40s (first game to use d12, too, I think).

This game is international, or at least pretty much everywhere in Europe.
First known one was commisionned as a gift to Felipe II from François I who saw the game in Florence.

seems familiar, tho i never played it

Scythe was not designed by Pole, but I think illustrations by Różalski are more famous than the board game.

I think this on is still a big staple here. You have to take cards with distances or accidents on them. The goal is to be the first to go 1000km.

Also I can't believe Trivial Pursuit is from Québec !

Roll dice, advance, events happens, go more forward or back, maybe skip a turn.
Very very basic.

On behalf of Sweden(and being part Swedish myself) I would like to contribute the Stiga Playoff. It's a table hockey game where you control the players by manipulating the knobs on the sides of the game. By controlling the players you get to physically slam the puck in the goal which makes it really fun.

We had something similar, but I don't think it's a polish invention.
