Yeah there is something in socialist realism and brutalism. Might be because I have to live in what is left of it.

I might be crazy but the brutalist architecture near me is just the best designed.
Every hardware element weather it be stairs, windows or the ventilation is designed perfectly to fit with the concrete. I cant say the same for other buildings with shitty slapped on elements and other lazy gadgets boondoggled onto everything
in brutalism the concrete espresses the structure but in other contemporary public buildings you have these useless gypsum decorative panels made into deocrate fake sturcture

I live in a pic related late soviet apartment building. Compared to contemporary khruschevkas and panel buildings they were very spacious and energy efficient, they still fetch a high price even to this day. Don't know why it feels so comfy not to mention the view in to the forest nearby from the balcony.

Construction is also very important. I lived in such a place where shitty contractors did not waterproof the foundation or maybe it was damaged and the basement flooded with pressure changes and the pipes failed hilariously
