They generally all live on the west coast so if you don't live there, you'll rarely see one
japanese americans arent found as often as most asian-americans here. most are chinese, vietnamese or sometimes korean in my experience
There are actually very few Asians here, and they are mostly Taiwanese, yet most people just assume they come from the PRC lol.

There were 2 in HS, and after a few weeks they just were treated like if they were common mexicans and weebs bothered them a lot at first, lots of people with more Amerindian ancestry look very asian and the european mixure sometimes looks like 1/3 japanese, so they're physiology is not that exotic here except for the eyes.
