People often talk about France having a low level in english (which is not true) but we don't talk enough about spain's level of english. I asked for a BANANA in a store and people looked at me like an alien. How is it possible to not understand what banana means ? I rented a AirBNB place and the host didn't know a single word of english, he could say "yes", "no" and "ok" and that was it. This man work in tourism and is not able to build a basic sentence in english. All of those happened in "big cities". I don't get it., honestly ruined my trips to have to pull up google traducion at every encounter. Spaniards fix this

>sausage fruit

>plata o plomo
Banan or lead

>wuwuzz bananas n shieeet

What about learning basic things in Spanish? although I agree that the English level is very poor even among the young people, same about yours, Russians' nd Italian's
>t. Jordi
>t. Brayan Nahuel

Im leaving spain soon, heres what ive learned:

>arrive in shop
"Hola"
>complete purchase
"Gracias"
>leave shop
"Adios"

Where can i pay = donde pagar
Where is x = donde esta x

Ahora = now
Ahorra = save yourself (!?) [Reads in soda bottle]

Pero = but
Para = for
Tambien = also

platano o plomo

Banano or lead

Proud of that fuck british.

Basado

>be tourist
>learn basic Spanish
>?donde pagar?
>[receive an unintelligible wall of text back at 300 WPM]

That, but also with helpful hand movements that point me to right direction. Its weird how fast you regress into basic hand movements when theres no common language :D

E.g. a service person couldnt hear/understand me when i said "pen", "boligrafo", but as soon as i mimicked writing something into the air, bingo

Umm bros... which is the correct one?
