It took the local Serbs and Bosnians 50 years to shake their Balkan accents and start speaking proper dialectal or standard Slovene here, and our language's literally the closest thing there is to Serbobosnian.

Many have the decency to know at least some phrases of Kölsch. It's useful to signal they are down to earth people and many have at least some local pride.

No, immigrants here in Rome speak way too much Roman and not enough Standard Italian, to the point that is almost ridiculous.

On the other hand immigration in Milan tends to make the Italian spoken there more and more standardized.

Sounds more like the French. As for OP, their teacher or learning materials are going to be the standard stuff. Nobody is going to go out of the way to learn the local dialect unless they really need to. It's a cost/benefit issue.
