I blame the jews
Why is Argentina HDI still higher than Brazil's?
Shitposting and banter
My states HDI is lower than Libya or Palestine KEK
Half of the country is jungle and africa-tier governance and people. Our many crisis aren't as marketable as Argentina's either so we also keep lagging behind instead of overtaking you.
Central America and Colombia are the worst offenders
considering geographical barriers, they could have been at least 4 countries
Nordestino?
It's actually America's fault
Yes.
no thanks
Thirdies
because HDI is a meme index
We are poor and black shut up
Brazil always score badly in PPP indexes because it doesn't account for how isolated our consumer market is from the international prices
>Purchasing power parity (PPP)[1] is the measurement of prices in different countries that uses the prices of specific goods to compare the absolute purchasing power of the countries' currencies. In many cases PPP produces an inflation rate equal to the price of the basket of goods at one location divided by the price of the basket of goods at a different location. The PPP inflation and exchange rate may differ from the market exchange rate because of tariffs, and other transaction costs.
>Poverty, tariffs, transportation and other frictions prevent trading and purchasing of various goods, so measuring a single good can cause a large error. The PPP term accounts for this by using a basket of goods, that is, many goods with different quantities. PPP then computes an inflation and exchange rate as the ratio of the price of the basket in one location to the price of the basket in the other location. For example, if a basket consisting of 1 computer, 1 ton of rice, and 1 ton of steel was 1,800 US dollars in New York and the same goods cost 10,800 HK dollars in Hong Kong, the PPP exchange rate would be 6 HK dollars for every 1 US dollar.
Argentina has more years of schooling (and some months more of life expectation), so these factors added to PPP distortion puts Argentina way above us
Because Portugal made us poor and dumb by prohibiting industry and universities here unlike the british and spanish colonies of New Spain and the Thirteen Colonies. Until 1822 brazilians had to travel to lisbon to study, start to think like their aristocracy and then come back with the lusitanic mentality so a local and nativist identity would never develop.
The hypercentralization and paranoia of the portuguese crown had their shortcomings but at least kept us united in terms of culture and territory.

What?
Brazil BTFO, those lil monkes lied to me!!!>Because Portugal made us poor and dumb by prohibiting industry and universities here unlike the british and spanish colonies of New Spain and the Thirteen Colonies. MONKES TOGETHER STRONG: The colonial policy
Every member of the new ruling class wanted his own petty fiefdom to rule, and the only way to accomplish that was to divide the former colonies.
Biggest reasons is brazil tried socialism and it fucked them up really bad. So wealth is difficult to build but super easy to squander. Brazil wanted large amounts of capitol and never really got back on track. Another reason is insane inflation. Another reason is shitty geography. Too many miutisns close to the coast which makes moving anything expensive. Lots of jungle that somewhat unlivable. Lots of stupid niggers that take in too much assistance and don't provide enough wealth. Brazil basically has everything working against them.
>chile more hunger than brapzil
you must be retarded to believe this
using international dollars or a basket of goods accounting for imported products makes Brazil seem poorer than it is, unless you think access to iMacs and Ferraris are more important than access to food and industrial goods made here
Have you seen the current prices of palta? Chileans suffer.
when did we try socialism?
>Have you seen the current prices of aguacate?
ftfy
you're so fucking retarded.
>>chile more hunger than brapzil
>you must be retarded to believe this
user...Milei lied to you
Each country was more or less autonomous from each other and even had their own universities. Brazillian elites all studied at Coimbra University and portuguese administration was more streamlined in comparison.
Hispanic American criollos actually got fairly well along and probably saw themselves as brethren more than with the indigenous/mixed population in their country, but Spanish administration was very autonomized throughout most of the region due to geographical barriers, so not a lot of people really wanted to relinquish their power to some greater authority from a far away place.

LVLA was the one who hyperfocused on solving our hunger problem and the fact that those changes remain adamant to this day where not even right-wingers dare touch it proves the man knew what he was doing.
