How often do you hear "gotten"? I know the word is stigmatized by some as an Americanism (despite predating the British colonization of North America by centuries), but that it's making a comeback due to U.S. influence and has also been continuously used in some regions.

Don't hear it much, where I live. I probably use it the most, out of everyone I know. But that's probably because I'm hyper-americanized

I like to think that I'm anglo'd rather than americanised

Extremely. My inner monologue is in American English, my cultural exposure was 90% to American musicians, American art, American culture as a whole... I sometimes speak English better than my "native" tongue.

Only if you use the word, "okay" in everyday speech.

Not much but there are some things that I do which could be labeled as American; like wearing my shoes inside the house.

I do. I use all kinds of "Americanisms", like using "like" a lot, "okay" to start assessing a situation, and "plus", as an additional replacement for "and".

Interesting. I occasionally hear Brits on the internet use "got" as the past participle and it's always jarring (no offense). Using it as the past participle is not entirely unknown in the United States, but it's only done seldom and in very long sentences, and the standard language always demands "gotten".

Sometimes I hear Brits use our idioms like "hit it out of the park" which is from baseball -- a sport they don't play.

Is it used in cricket, or some shit? idk. I don't follow UK sports

Not americanized at all. American culture has next to zero impact on my life.

I sometimes wish we were colonized by the British and joined the British Commonwealth as a major cricket playing nation.

Far too Americanized, things here are like if you mashed boomer British people with zoomer Americans.

Doesn't Japan have baseball as it's most popular sport? Why would you want cricket, if you already have a better version of cricket?

Your curry is from Britain.

Depends on what you mean by that. Probably a whole lot more Americanized than Puerto Rican by accidental occurence due to my billingual background. I probably consume American media a whole less than most people here if you exclude vidya.

I'd say overall Japan has been influenced a lot more by the US than the UK. Despite Japan arguably having deeper historical ties to the latter

>Despite Japan arguably having deeper historical ties to the latter

What do you mean? The US literally sent over Commodore Perry to open up Japan.

>he doesn't call people nigga

You've been steadily Americanizing since WWII when we were the only country that could actually offer you direct protection.

And that's about all the United States did with Japan, up until the 1900's. During that time, the UK was the Anglo nation which interacted with Japan the most

cricket is boring to play but fun to watch. Cuckball is the other way round.

Ahh you think only one can “become” Americanized. You merely adopted American culture. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t understand what that meant until I was already a man. By then it was nothing to me but revolting.

Baseball is boring to watch, but fun to play. And that's coming from someone who can't into sports, due to being genetically unathletic. Did baseball in PE once, and thought it was okay. At least compared to all the other sports I was forced to humiliate myself with by playing

Too busy with the Civil War.
