Trash

:(

Would by Alice in Chains is such a great song

This genre is called national rock. It's entirely based on complaining about muh trianon and making mediocre rock covers of good interwar songs.

"Old Time Fiddle" has roots all over the place, but it's a pretty uniquely American thing, and is slightly different from traditional bluegrass (which is also pretty American). The songs have been passed down through the years, it's neat hearing familiar melodies played in new ways, whether solo or in a group. They don't always have to be played on a fiddle, either, many of my favorites are played on something else.

For instance, here are two renditions of "Angeline the Baker" played by two separate guitarists:
Kenny Smith - youtube.com/watch?v=1Jb5ugtbqww
David Grier - youtube.com/watch?v=ypOPZAY0Edo
"Turkey In The Straw" - youtube.com/watch?v=2KBYIJA2uYs

Some bigger band stuff:
Aly Bain, "Bonaparte's Retreat" - youtube.com/watch?v=eNigFpaBBf8
Earl Scruggs & Lester Flatt, "Cripple Creek" - youtube.com/watch?v=B4sqishGuYw

Other favorites:
Kenny Smith, "Coleman's March" - youtube.com/watch?v=jyzPvySio-k
Chris Thile & Michael Daves, "Billy In The Lowground" - youtube.com/watch?v=y9a7r3mJafU

That's enough for now. Endless variations of the same old tunes, always fun.

Crap, "Turkey In The Straw" was supposed to be with the big band category.
Many of the songs also have lyrics, though they aren't often performed:

("Turkey In The Straw" also infamously has a parody song called "Nigger Love A Watermelon, Ha Ha Ha!", should you care to look those lyrics up.)
