The Russians are having an extremely normal precedented reaction to a neighboring country allying with their enemies.
Now I'm not a Putinbot and I'm not saying that they're right or that Ukraine doesn't have the right to defend itself, but what the Russians are doing is 100% out of the playbook of what every empire has done since the beginning of time including our own.
You can make all the statements you just made about the Russians and apply them to Americans citing Vietnam, Cuba, Nicaragua, Iraq, Afghanistan etc
