Does this happen in your country or do they use salt that ruins your shoes and car? Thirdies living in tropical paradise dont need to answer.
Chocolate chips on road

VERY good thread

what is this?
Chocolate chips
its sand and streets has to be cleaned every spring, soon these machines are everywhere :I
vgh cant wait spring to come!
are you serious? not even a little?
What kind of subhuman would live someplace where it snows?
Uhhmm
>proceeds to live in desert
it's a mix, most places use salt, but in sand isn't uncommon either, I like salt better because it does a better job
we have road gritters, it's a mixture of very large particle sand and salt, however I live on the top of a very steep valley and nothing can make it up in the snow and ice, so if its a snow storm with little warning and not pre-gritted before it hits, I'm essentially stranded

Have you ever seen a finlandish pussy irl?
Yep. It's my seasonal winter job. It's very calming.
>I like salt better because it does a better job
I hate salt because it turns the street into a grey slush that ruins cars and equipment like nothing else. Gravel is better for me.
In the cities that do during winter, snow is already melt by 10 AM
the gritter machines here fling the gravel out with enough force to chip paint
Ours are smaller, and more chill. They use gravity to drop gravel and not any force.
mostly salt, but the custodians for the neighborhood and complex i live at use sand for the courtyards and walkways
there's two tiny random cities in the entire country that snow for 1 day a year
