Why do people say that Dutch is an ugly language? Sounds good to me.

Anglo aesthetics

Dutch is great.
Danish is revolting.

¿Incluso después de la Guerra de los Ochenta Años?

>In 1573, there are 54,300 soldiers in Flanders under the command of the Duke of Alba. Of them, only 7,900 are Spanish. Of the rest, about 30,000 were Flemish.

>Alexander Farnese's army in 1581 consisted of about 60,000 men. Of them only 6,300 were Spanish. The Italians numbered 5,000. The rest, that is, the majority, were Dutch, about 48,000

The rest of the text talks about high Dutch commanders in the loyalist army.

Just throw your bag on the floor.
You look like you're about to starve to death!
Come in, are you cold? are you thirsty?
I might have to call the ambulance.

Immersion is the key to a successful language learning experience.
I've studied conjugations and declinations for weeks now. Why can't I speak [insert TL here]?
We've got a problem. I don't know where my laptop is and if I don't find it I won't be able to upload my assignment.
Ah, there it is. Doesn't matter now, I should have had my assignment in 45 minutes ago.

Beyond the eradication of old-world aristocracy, ordinary Americans also refused to defer to those possessing, as Tocqueville put it, superior talent and intelligence, and these natural elites could not enjoy many shares in political power as a result
Ordinary Americans enjoyed too much power and claimed too great a voice in the public sphere to defer to intellectual superiors. This culture promoted relatively pronounced equality, Tocqueville argued, but the same mores and opinions that ensured such equality also promoted mediocrity.

Oops thats formatted badly. Oh well.

name a better alternative

Clozemaster and Anki, plus a good grammar book and input.

Literally Chinatown though

Obviously the best thing is to take real classes.

Has anyone here ever used the American standard English grammar course at Khan Academy?
I don't have a single clue what all those 'adjective, pronouns' shits even mean so I think this is a great chance for me to get used to grammar.
But I'm not sure where will this course take me to at the end of the course.
Some intermediate level? Or maybe just basic and essential level?
Isn't this course supposed to be the material for EFL SAT prep students though?

To teach is to learn twice though
That's why I lecture every native speaker I know on incorrect grammar

Based. I look forward for the day you will do it to me. If your were a woman (female) I would ask you to marry me when it will happen.

It is 'I look forward to', isn't it
Fucking prepositions, I've reached the conclusion that prepositions don't mean anything in any language and are used arbitrarily by repeating what you hear.

you*
Are you me? I've said the exact same thing on this very general.
Also, why wouldn't a woman be female?
In any case, prepositions also form 'phrasal verbs' that are not unlike 'seperable prefixes' in German.
Look at/ upon (no 'at' in the imperative mood) - to direct one's vision - mirar
Look to - to direct one's vision with emphasis on the directing (to the West, to the future, etc.) - mirar
Look for - to search for something - buscar
Look like - to appear similar to - mirarse
Look on - to observe something with indifference, inaction - mirar descuiadod(?)
Look out (for _) - (often in the imperative) to be careful of - cuidar(se)

Look upon is also archaic and is thus not in common use, but still relevant.
