Why does France still have this little colony on the coast of South America? What's the point? Did no one ever care to declare independence or is everyone there French?

They had a referendum about it and choose to stay.

>Did no one ever care to declare independence or is everyone there French?
american iq

Most former colonies have declared independence. What made French Guiana different? Better living standards?

everyone knows now what happens to most ex colonies, they turns to shit. They are living better under france and can move to anywhere in eu.

Puerto Rico is also a colony from America lol

they use it to launch rockets

it's a french army base to stick BBC sperm into jewish women's womb

>colony
no, it's an integral part of France. Like Hawaii for the US, if you will

>Did no one ever care to declare independence
During the last referendum there in 2010, more than 70% voted for remaining French.

>is everyone there French?
everyone is French except tourists and the like? if you mean "ethnically" then no, there still are many natives. Remember that unlike le eternal Anglo, we don't kill those.
There are about 2000 Hmong from Laos living there, as well.

Integral part of the EVROPEAN VNION. It belongs to france and all other eu members like croatia or the netherlands. Vgh...

>Most former colonies have declared independence
In France's cases a great many colonies were just kicked out because otherwise, they would have been granted welfare rights and this would have destroyed our economy. They got to vote (exception Indochina, which fought a war, and Algeria but it didn't have colony status) and some voted for independance and others to remain.
Gabon even applied to become a part of France, after independence - rejected.

But Guyane:
- had a low indigenous population
- has an ideal situation for a space center, being both on the equator and bordered by an ocean on the east side
- huge biodiversity (90% of all animal species found in the entire EU live in Guyane). This may come handy one day for biotechs
- it's not tiny like Mercartor projections suggest, it's about the size of Austria and larger than half EU countries
- the 3ème REI (foreign legion regiment specializing in jungle warfare) is stationed there, ideal for training. Also interesting location for naval and air bases
- there are gold deposits
- probably more important, there are BIG CATS! Jaguars! Pumas! Ocelots! Margays! you can't be a great country without those. Mainland France only has lynxes.

So it was kept, and since the people living there are vastly in favor, it became part of France.
There are quite a few other territories in that case, see map.

>probably more important, there are BIG CATS!

Agreed, France wouldn't be quite the same without those little fuckers.

Why does America still own Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam ?

Why would they want independance ? To live in poverty like Brazil ?

Basé

to import coke more easily

Heh, but do you have any T.I.G.E.R.S.?

This is the exact reason why you haven't seen any colonies declaring independence nowadays.

>Heh, but do you have any T.I.G.E.R.S.?
Sadly, not at the moment.
But Guyane's big cats will do.

They renamed it into an overseas territory so now they claim it's not a colony.

>little colony
It's not little, it's twice as big as Germany or Great Britain

It's like the 50th time I see this thread. This board is absolutely shit. It's even worse than Any Forums. It's always the same threads who come.

Un TIGER est un char de combat

That's everywhere in Any Forums

Especially on Any Forums. You are uninteresting.

Everyone in the Any Forums as of now is that way
