I do not think there is a relationship more one-sided in Europe, maybe even the world.
Literally everyone here somewhat like Spain. Most students will go to Barcelona to get wasted at some point, it is seen as a chad country full of extraverted people and parties, but also with a great culture which deserve respect (Not like Berlin for example, where french ONLY visit to get high on weird drugs and dance all night long)
Women are seen as hot. Men as strong and viril. The entire youth learn spanish these days, while german is actually disappearing from our school system (I'm not exagerating). Boomers like Toledano and Madrid, and very old people love the Canary islands.
Everyone here love Spain. And yet, they either don't care or actively despise us
