It has a long growing season with plenty of rain, a long coastline with lots of fisheries, and many mineral deposits in the mountains. I am curious what the map would be like today. States such as Missouri and Kentucky had slavery and were claimed as their territory by the Confederate government, but never formally seceded. If the South had won militarily, I wonder if they could have gotten those states.

There are not many conflicts in human history that can be characterized as purely being good vs. evil, as the righteous vs the vile but when men take up arms out of their full volition to defend the hideous blot that is the institution of human bondage then its not possible for any decent man gift them any shred of tolerance, they deserve the utter defeat for they aren't only a threat to one particular faction but for all of humanity.
