Theu're not being inconsistent though because Taiwanese independence would be like LPR and DPR independence. It's the west that's inconsistent, where they'll support territorial integrity in Russian bordering countries but self-determination in Taiwan (and Kosovo). China is pretty consistent in always supporting territorial integrity, and even still recognizes Crimea as Ukrainian and always will unless the Ukrainian government gives up its claim.
