But that's wrong lol. In Ukrainian Kiev is Київ [ˈkJjiu̯] and in Russian it's Киeв [ˈkʲijJf] or [ˈkʲiJf].

Since in both cases it's a transliteration with -v (instead of -u or -f) the approximate pronunciation should be ki-yeev for Kyiv and kee-iv for Kiev. I don't think you can even pick up that difference anyway.
