Do you have a history of abuse, even something as small as your Mom belittling you in moments of innocent childlike exploration.
Let's say you rode your bike and jumped it over a puddle.
You are extatic, but your mom worries about your safety and the cost of cleaning your clothes blah blah.
so she subconsciously starts destroying your innate urge to hop puddles or climb trees, explore the world etc.

Having a good sleeping schedule, eating healthy, socialising regularly and doing some sport can help
If that doesn't help, consider talking with an expert

Where you go wrong is by catastrophizing in the face of this realization. This line of thinking will not help you:

I believe that your thoughts can create your own reality to an extent. If you consign yourself to failure and sadness, you will fail to be happy. If you have no faith in your own ability to make yourself happy, you will be unhappy.
What you need to do is have an honest dialogue with yourself. What can you do in your day to day life that will make you enjoy life more? What can you do to restore the faith in yourself that you seemingly lack? And most importantly, what do you have in life to be grateful for? Take an inventory of your life.
Do you take good care of your body? Your brain is an organ.
It really never is too late to course correct, especially so in your situation.

A lot of it is about "mindfulness" which just means rather than focusing on how you feel, you focus on your senses.
Some people have constanr thoughts and if you want to know of you have that just sit down anywhere and think nothing.
