People have been saying Texas will flip any day now for over 30 years now. Hasn’t happened, won’t ever happen, it’s culture is too entrenched in anti-Californianism.

They keep redistricting the state to maintain "white" power. Eventually though it won't be enough, especially when Trump comes back.

They're a republican state that loves to stay democrat states are failures for being taxed to death, but texans are too dumb to realize their property tax rates are 3X that of places like California.

And yet, owning a home is still 10x times cheaper in Texas than renting a cuckshed in California.

Moved here for a promotion, don't like it. It's been freezing for the last two weeks, will get sweltering in the Summer. Traffic is awful. Everything just looks ugly and flat. If we can't find a house in the next few months I'm probably just going to use this promotion as a springboard for a job elsewhere and get out. I'm envious of the pride they seem to have in their State (Lone-star decals and Texas-shaped everything abound), but ironically I can't share it.
The property taxes were the biggest kick in the nuts. What the fuck. Sometimes you find a city with reasonable ones like Rockwall but most everywhere it's stupid high.
