Why don't Americans have universal healthcare?

What's stopping them?

pharmaceutical lobbyists for one

what is healthcare?

Lobbyists, an unhealthy population due to lack of activity/poor diet/etc making suck a system magnitudes more expensive, and generally high medical costs in general.

our "universal healthcare" is dogshit though, anyone with money avoid it by paying for health insurance

Solidarity with muh fellow dindus and shietttt

because Canadians lobby for them not to have it so we can go down to the U.S and pay for high-level operations while enjoying the comfort of free healthcare for low level illness and injuries

>Cuba
>Universal

LOL

Universal healthcare is for fags.
Fun fact: Due to Medicare, Medicaid and other crap the US government actually spends a larger % of GDP on health care than some countries with universal health care.
This is how universal health care would be here, the poor and minorities use it but the middle class and wealthy use private insurance.

Ours is good but we also have private sector healthcare for better facilities and services, etc. There's really no reason a country can't have both systems.

Sounds like a poorly run system then.

Some countries ban private health from providing the same services as public health care.
It is.

why do you need healthcare?

last time I went to doctor was 5+ years ago

because idiots can't save up money for shit, so we have to do it for them.

Iran does not have free and universal healthcare. The map is wrong.

>Some countries ban private health from providing the same services as public health care.
Why? In NZ if the hospitals are too full the government will even pay private hospitals to perform surgery's

I don't know, but IIRC Canada has laws making that sort of thing illegal.

That's fucking bizarre you would think they would accept private healthcare. Catholic and private schools ease the burden on state schools so private healthcare does the same on state hospitals

Boomers have all been brainwashed into thinking it would somehow have catastrophic effects, ignoring the fact that Europe and Canada exist and arent spiralling into apocalypse any faster than us

Insurance companies losing money
Mutts don't like it because it's too communist or something

any post peasant farming and post industrial country needs a few cashcow industries which provide enough mid level jobs to create enough consumption to keep the economy going
Europe has transport logistics and government stuff
We just have really high wages for shitkicker jobs
America has healthcare with a retarded amount of middle management

All of them don't really have a market justification but for the macroeconomy if you take them out then middle sized cities would just have unemployment go through the roof.
And the good thing about consumerism is that the government and big business want and need you to have disposable income to buy their shit.

>This is how universal health care would be here, the poor and minorities use it but the middle class and wealthy use private insurance
Why is this a bad thing exactly?
The same thing happens here and it means that people who can't afford it don't suffer crippling medical debt
That and the emergency services are good and you don't have to worry about massive costs if you have a life threatening medical emergency

This is wrong, healthcare isn't free at all here.
Just because it doesn't cost the same as a house like it does in the states doesn't mean that it's free.
