but that's not what they did in 1917, they were actually building a decently competent government and about to negotiate a normal peace in the war when they got couped by the commies. then they won the election (bolsheviks got 2nd place) and then got couped again in the october revolution. gommies then signed a massively detrimental peace which gave away a lot of the country to the germans.
