I genuinely think it's the lack of a close threat that makes them less likely to imagine going to war. I think a lot of French, Spanish, British and Italian men would join up when they would get invaded.

I like to think I would fight a defensive war if my country was genuinely at risk. I'm not fighting for Ukraine.

This whole map is retarded. You can tell which country frame the question as a defensive war and which frame it as an offensive one. Western Europe will think going to war means joining the US on their next war mongering endeavor in the Middle East. In countries like Ukraine, Finland and Sweden the question will be thought of a defensive war against Russia. The majority of men in Sweden and especially Finland have been conscripted in their youth with the purpose of being able to fight a defensive war against the Soviet Union/Russia
