Define freedom. Religious people would say that they are achieving freedom througu religion. The idea is that you free yourself through worship of the God instead of being a slave to the worship of your finite carnal desires and/or this finite fleeting life that will end.

What are the rules for praying? Obviously the call to prayer is played everywhere here but I don't see many people actually reacting to it.

I pray a few times a day and I don't identify as being part of any faith. I actually think this is a simulation and I'm the only real person in it, however I'm open to anything, and to praying to any God.

In the different religions, specifically Islam, the idea is that you strive, but it's in God's hands if you arrive. Prayers -> Granted what you ask for or facilitation or proctection from decree or reward/protection in the afterlife.

I've never seen a study on it, but it would be interesting that's for sure.
