Every single American tourist I’ve met in Germany was pretty retarded and naïve, but they’re always nice and never act rude or even as stubborn/ignorant as the usual stereotype. Pretty sure the Portuguese guy just wanted an easy target.
American international students are the actual problem here, but inversely in my home country (Belgium) where I even worked in tourism, Americans were arrogant and rude while the residents and students were bro-tier
