They were mostly translated by copts and we have strong archeological proofs that à lot of greco-roman classics were present in europe long before Islam was a thing, and traces of philosophical and theological communications between Greece and pre roman GAVL have been discovered.
The problem with Al Andalus and the Islamic Golden age is that it's a new age myth created by the elites to be able to say "see Arabs and muslims are cool too" and it occults both the shitshow that Al Andalus was and the actual center of Islamic sciences and art in Baghdad.
